Cake crumbs are mixed with icing or chocolate, and formed into small spheres or cubes in the same way as cake balls, before being given a coating of icing, chocolate or other decorations and attached to lollipop sticks. I first began making homemade cake pops when I wrote Sally's Candy Addiction. Cake pops are a sweet treat consisting of cake turned into a lollipop.

Cake pops is one of the most popular of recent trending foods on earth. It is easy, it’s quick, it tastes yummy. It is enjoyed by millions daily. They’re fine and they look fantastic. Cake pops is something that I have loved my entire life.

To begin with this particular recipe, we must prepare a few ingredients. You can cook cake pops using 7 ingredients and 6 steps. Here is how you can achieve that.

The ingredients needed to make Cake pops:
  1. Make ready 1/2 cup Ready made icing
  2. Take candy melts or bar of melting chocolate
  3. Make ready 1 box (3.4 ounces) instant pudding and pie filling mix
  4. Prepare 4 eggs
  5. Make ready 1 cup water
  6. Take 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  7. Take assortment of toppings to go on the cake pops

Steps to make Cake pops:
  1. Step 1 Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray one 13 x 9 x 2 in. sheet pan or two 8 in. or 9 in. round pans with vegetable pan spray.
  2. In large bowl, combine cake mix, pudding mix, eggs, water and oil; beat at medium speed with electric mixer 2 minutes. Pour into prepared pan.
  3. Bake 30-35 minutes for round pans; 35-40 minutes for sheet pan, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan 10 minutes; remove from pan to cooling grid and cool completely. Divide cake in half; freeze one half for future use. (The recipe calls for this) I used the whole cake bc I thought the mixture was too wet when I just used half.
  4. In large bowl, use hands to crumble cake until no large chunks remain. Add icing; mix with fingers until well combined. Form mixture into cake balls. Chill in refrigerator at least 2 hours. Melt Candy Melts according to package directions. Dip sticks into melted Candy Melts and insert into cake balls; let set. (I didnt do this) Wait until candy is completely firm before dipping the pops completely in melted Candy Melts.
  5. Makes 48 - 1 tablespoon sized cake ball pops (each about 1-1/4 in. diameter) Makes 24 - 2 tablespoon sized cake ball pops (each about 1-1/2 in. diameter) Makes 16 - 3 tablespoon sized cake ball pops (each about 1-3/4 in. diameter)
  6. Once you have dipped them sprinkle different toppings. Like different assortment of sprinkles, mini chocolate chips, toffee bits and etc.
